Before history was written down and recorded, Astrology was considered to be the “Mother of Science”, even though today Astrology falls more into the category of metaphysics (which is the study of things beyond the physical), and is considered to be a “new-age” belief.
Astrology is the study of the celestial bodies (stars, planets, moon and sun), and its relevance to time and an individual’s birthdate. It is believed that the placement of these celestial bodies during a certain place and time can determine the habits (both good and bad), and character traits of an individual.
Many individuals use astrology to help them with self-discovery, and a confirmation that all things are happy for a particular reason. A person’s birth chart (a component of astrology) is considered to be a map into psyche and path to understanding one’s self and the universe that surrounds them.
One of the main attractions that draw people to seek astrology is the personal connection that it offers (to other people and also to their environment). Astrology is amazing and beautiful, and it provides a believer with a reason to experience joy and be mentally and spiritually satisfied. Astrology gives many individuals inner peace, especially in a world filled with financial and moral chaos.
Through an astrological (or horoscope) reading, they are provided reassurance and calmness. Indicating to a person that there is an element at work in the Universe that is higher than “self”. Many people leave a reading feeling satisfied and certainly less stressed and overwhelmed with their daily lives.
There are many different types of astrology including, but not limited to:
Esoteric (or Karmic) astrology focuses on the insights of the spirit world.
Horary astrology is used by psychics that possess this gift to help police, as it is a “gift” that finds lost items and answers specific questions, by the spirits, that have been left unanswered.
Financial astrology is used by stock brokers to help them make effective stock trades, and avoid financial disasters.
Astro metrology is a branch of astrology that is focused on the weather patterns, and the prediction of certain types of severe storms or other catastrophic weather conditions.
Zodiac astrology is the number #1 type of astrology that is followed in the United States.
Another type of astrology is the Chinese astrology, which follows the symbols of animals (such as the rooster, monkey and tiger). There is also Babylonian, Egyptian and Indian astrology.
Astrologers from India have a strong belief that each planet is literally the embodiment of an entity (such as a God or spiritual guide), and their primary job is to gently guide the destiny of humans.
Farmers have for years used astrology (the placement of the planets and stars) in knowing when to plant and harvest the best crops. The Farmer’s Almanac hasn’t been around for all these years if there wasn’t something to it.
Many yogis, herbalists, experts in Feng-Shui and Chinese medicine believe that our body is not just bones, flesh and blood, but are “receiving stations” (collections and emanating signals) to the environment around us.
